(Portulaca oleracea) approx 50 days. Golden Purslane is a great salad plant. Plants are upright with 1 1/2″ oval to teardrop shaped leaves on orange stems that are crisp and mild. Cut stems to about 2″ above the base and new stems and leaves will grow.
Due its content of oxalic acid, purslane should not be consumed by people with kidney disease or that have high uric acid.
A sweeter pesto type with large medium dark green leaves mostly used for spicing foods. Grows 24" to 36" tall.
